Toyota teases the arrival of the FT-AC Concept at the LA Auto Show image

The Japanese automaker is set to use the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show for its latest showcar introduction, teased here and labeled for arrival on November 30 under the moniker FT-AC.

It’s going to be a rugged, off-road inspired prototype, hence the Future Toyota Adventure Concept meaning of the short form FT-AC, and unfortunately so far information about its abilities is still under wraps, with Toyota only promising “all the ingredients for your next adventure.” For now the teaser presents us a direct view of the front end of the car – and we can’t but see the semblance of the punctual LED daylight driving lights to the ones usually deployed by Kia’s crossovers.

On the other hand, we’ll reserve judgment for when the time arrives for the official unveiling – given the front end does look quite rugged with widebody fenders and interesting side mirrors. The FT-AC is clearly directed at those looking to spend time in the wilderness, even at night – when the lights over on the roof should also provide good illumination. Toyota isn’t doing this without an idea – we also saw the FT-4X Concept at the New York Auto Show, with a retro vibe that clearly referenced the defunct but very classic FJ40 Land Cruiser.
