Trident to unveil 200 mph diesel roadster at Salon Prive 2012 image

British sports car maker Trident will display its all-new Iceni Grand Tourer at Salon Privé 2012.

The event will be held at West London’s Syon Park from September 5 through September 7.

Equipped with Trident’s patented Torque Multiplication technology, the Iceni boasts impressive performance. The car has a top speed of nearly 200 mph and completes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in just 3.7 seconds. Built to order in Norfolk, UK, the Trident Iceni is priced from £75,000.

The car is powered by a mid-front mounted 6.6-liter turbo-diesel unit which is capable of running on mineral diesel, bio diesel, palm oil and linseed oil. The engine delivers 430 horsepower and a massive 950 lb-ft of torque (1288 Nm), from under 3.250 rpm. There’s also an option to upgrade to 660 bhp, in which case the torque figure climbs to 1050 lb-ft.

Trident’s Torque Multiplication technology allows the engine to run at just 980 rpm while the car is traveling at a constant 70 mph. At this speed, the engine produces 700 lb-ft of torque and averages 68.9 mpg (57.36 mpg US, 4.09 liters/km).

Trident Sports Cars will start taking new orders for the Iceni at the Salon Prive.
