Nissan has announced its plans to introduce the new turbocharged Pulsar to Australia in mid-2013, which should get 188 HP from the 1.6L engine.
The Nissan Pulsar is also known as the Nissan Altima in the United States and the model is getting ready to receive a new version which will be launched in Australia next year. The Japanese based automaker says that the turbocharged Nissan Pulsar will get a 1.6 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under its hood, which will generate a total output of 188 HP (140 kW) and 240 Nm of torque (177 lb-ft).
The unit will be mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or to a CVT but Nissan didn’t announce any performance figures for the moment so we don’t know anything about the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration or its top speed. The same engine is also used on the Nissan Juke Shiro and the B-segment crossover can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 8 seconds, but the Pulsar SSS should be about 1 second faster. The turbocharged Pulsar will be officially presented to the Australian public at the 2012 Sydney Motor Show later on this week.
