The British exotic sports car manufacturer is almost back – with its new model set for the official unveiling on September 8 and already flaunting some of its details, such as the lateral exhaust.
The sports car marque TVR is almost ready to be reborn, with its all-new model set for unwrapping during an important event – Goodwood Revival on September 8. The company announced the official introduction date alongside the teaser depicting the round exhaust tip located behind the front wheels and painted black of the yet unnamed sports car. The automaker also revealed the first 500 units will belong to the Launch Edition priced from £90,000 – the initial pre-order campaign is already drawing to a close though, with the company set to re-open it when the model is presented this fall.
TVR’s new sports car has been co-developed with Gordon Murray Design, and word across the rumor mill is calling the new high-performance car the “Griffith,“ as the company registered the name as a trademark this year. The fans of the brand may remember the name existed prior to 2002 when it was discarded and might be pleased to see it return. Technical details are already in though – motivation will be provided by a Cosworth-developed 5.0-liter V8 packing 400 horsepower (298 kW) per ton, and since TVR says their new model will tip the scales at 1,200 kilograms (2,645 pounds), we can say the engine will be good for around 480 hp (358 kW). That’s going to suffice to get the English machine calmly to 60 mph (96 kph) in less than four seconds and on to a maximum speed of 200 mph (322 kph).
