The BMW X5 xDrive40e is now available for order in the United States as the carmaker has announced its official starting price.
If you happen to be on the lookout for a new “green” premium SUV and you are living in the United States, than the BMW X5 xDrive40e is probably what the doctor has ordered. The carmaker has announced recently its starting price and it will become available at 63,095 USD, with the destination and handling tax which has been raised to 995 USD. This is the second most-expensive model in the range.
Under its hood, the 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbochaged gasoline engine is found. This is rated at 245 HP (180 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque and it is backed up by an electric motor, generating 113 HP (83 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. The total output sent to the wheels is 313 HP (230 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration made in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph). The model can go to a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) in the full electric mode and its average fuel consumption is 3.3L / 100km (83.1 mpg UK / 69.1 mpg US). The CO2 emissions stop at 78 g/km and the battery can be recharged in 3h and 50m from the household socket and in 2h and 45m with the BMW i Wallbox which is optional.
