U.S. NCAP has recently awarded the Audi A6 with a 5-star safety rating for passive crash safety.
Owners or future buyers of the Audi A6 in the United States will be glad to find out that the luxurious vehicle has received a 5-star safety rating from the American crash test program, U.S. NCAP, after the similar program from the Old Continent, Euro NCAP, has given the same number of stars to the model back in 2011.
“The results for adult protection in frontal and side impact collisions, as well as in a rollover situation, make the current Audi A6 one of the safest cars in its category”, as the carmaker is saying in an official press release.
The Audi A6 in question has been tested in the frontal, side impact and rollover collisions and thanks to its structure, rigidity and safety gizmos, the model has been named one of the safest in its segment. One of the most important item found on the car is the automatic distance control system adaptive cruise control (ACC) with the stop & go function. This can bring the vehicle to a standstill and, at a brief stop, or at a traffic signal, the model can accelerate automatically again, maintaining a chosen distance from the vehicle in front of it. Other goodies found on the Audi A6 include the lane change assistant Audi side assist and the Audi active lane assist.
