U.S.: Porsche July sales increase 1% image

The official importer and distributor of Porsche models in the United States, Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA) has announced the official sales figures for July, 2012.

According to the North American division of Porsche, the German based automaker managed to sell a total of 2,803 vehicles in July 2012, a 1 percent increase over the same month of last year, when the company has found new owners for 2,768 vehicles. For the year, Porsche has sold 19,253 units in the United States, compared to last year’s sales of 18,310, which total a five percent increase.

“Our all-new Boxster and 911 models continue to be in high-demand. In fact, for the year, we’ve sold 46 percent more 911 sports cars this year than last year – a tribute to the success of the new, seventh-generation 911”, as PCNA’s president and CEO, Detlev von Platen, has said in the official press release.

In July 2012, Porsche has sold 373 units of the Boxster and Cayman models, compared to 327 units sold last year and 684 units of the 911 have found new owners this year, compared to just 480 in 2011. The Cayenne SUV was the only Porsche model to see a decrease in sales this month, with just 1,119 units sold compared to 1,342 in July 2011. The Panamera has sold 627 units this month, compared to 619 in July, last year.
