
According to the car manufacturer, the UK Beetle will be available with two engines, the 1.2 liter TSI engine developing 105 HP, mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission, and the 1.4 liter with its 160 HP mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Volkswagen says that later next year three new engines will enter the Beetle UK lineup in the form of the 1.6 liter TDI BlueMotion with 105 HP, the 2.0 liter TDI with 140 HP and the 2.0 liter TSI with its 200 HP.
The 1.2 liter TSI entry-level version priced at 16.490 GBP is coming in standard with air conditioning, remote central locking, rear Isofix seat preparation and an RCD 310 CD system with DAB radio, while for the mid-level VW will offer 17 inch alloy wheels in a two-style choice along with RCD 510 DAB CD/radio, multi-function leather wrapped steering wheel, front fog light, alarm, Bluetooth telephone with MDI, iPod connectivity and body-colored door handles.
The top-of-the-line Sport is bringing 18 inch alloy wheels in a two-style choice along with cruise control, sports seats, parking sensors, tinted glass, gloss black door mirrors and electronic climate control. Besides all these “goodies”, VW is also packing as optional equipment the sat-nav, panoramic sun roof, bi-xenon headlights and keyless access.
The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle will be available in the United Kingdom in spring 2012.
