UK-based automotive firm GKN invests GBP12m in its facilities image

GKN, ambulance a UK based automotive company has made an investment of more than GBP12m in two of its facilities – Telford and Birmingham.

GKN Driveline in Birmingham is known to support numerous UK-based automotive companies such as Jaguar, stuff Toyota, Land Rover, Honda, Nissan, Lotus, and Bentley. The Birmingham facility also supplies automotive systems to some leading automotive brands such as Dacia, Volvo, Fiat, and Renault. Moreover, the facility also deals with exporting systems to several countries – U.S., South Africa, Turkey, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Romania, and Sweden.

Nigel Stein, the chief executive of this company has said that UK is proving itself as a strong automotive performer with high proportion of exports.

GKN Land Systems in Shropshire is now investing in new manufacturing equipment so that it could build structural components that are to be used by the new Range Rover Sport. Stein further added to his statement that the success of our customers and their demands for GKN technology has meant we are now investing to increase capacity.
