The German automaker has released yet another special edition for British buyers, the Golf Estate Match Edition bringing more perks for a small charge.
The Golf compact is a very popular model but the mid-life cycle refresh hasn’t arrived yet – so keeping up the appearances are various special editions. The company’s UK unit has decided to deliver one based on the SE trim – the new Match Edition adds lots of amenities for a lot less than regular costs. The Golf Estate Match Edition is now here next to the hatchback brother that was introduced in U.K. back in November 2015. The five-door hatch starts at £19,840, the estate is more practical – and thus pricier. The latter will start at £22,045 and comes with 16-inch Dover wheels as well as a plethora of standard equipment. We can count on front fog lights, door mirror puddle lights, parking sensors, and a 6.5-inch Discover Navigation infotainment system with support for DAB digital radio and Bluetooth connectivity.
Other amenities include tandard heated windscreen washer jets, headlight washers, heated front seats, and electrically-folding mirrors. To get the Golf Estate Match Edition a premium of just £100 over the old SE trim is needed and the return is of £1,975 worth of extra kit. Additionally, VW UK has announced the Performance Golf and Performance Golf Estate roster (GTI, GTD, GTE, R and Alltrack models) gain additional standard equipment: 2Zone electronic air conditioning system and the Golf R come with standard heated front seats, Discover Navigation infotainment system, headlight washers, and heated windscreen washer jets.
