The Swedish automaker, owned by China’s Geely, has recently introduced in Great Britain the high-performance XC90 R-Design, where it can be snatched starting at 49,785 British pounds.
The first time we saw the XC90 R-Design was back in January in the USA during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit – were it was clad in a matte blue shade and now Volvo UK has decided to offer to its customers the “sportiest XC90 yet”. The high-performance SUV now sits on 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and design changes include a glossy black mesh for the grille and silver side mirror caps for contrasting looks. Sifting through the available features we can notice: the 12.3-inch active TFT driver’s instrument cluster screen, leather/nubuck sports seats, leather steering wheel, powered front seats with memory function, sports pedals, black headliner, or the unique remote key fob finished in leather. The R-Design is based off the regular XC90 Momentum that comes mated to standard LED headlights, a power liftgate, dual-zone automatic climate control system, or the 9-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment system.
Naturally, the XC90 is paired to all the best safety & assistance systems – from lane departure warning to front collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection and the SUV can also be ordered with a very comfortable, but optional air suspension. The range of engines available for the R-Design includes the D5 diesel, T6 Drive-E, as well as the flagship T8 Twin Engine hybrid. Pricing starts from 49,785 British pounds and the deliveries are expected during the first months of next year.
