Renault’s British division has recently announced that the Dacia Duster will be officially presented to the public in the UK this weekend, at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Dacia Duster’s career will begin on the 28th of June in a new significant European market, the United Kingdom, where people will be able to place an order for the low-cost SUV starting with later this week. In order to celebrate the launch of the new model in the UK, Dacia will choose a special moment, which will be the Goodwood Festival of Speed, one of the most popular automotive events in the country.
The right-hand drive Dacia Duster will be produced at the Renault-Nissan plant in Chennai, India, and even if future customers of the Romanian SUV can place their orders for the model later this week, deliveries of the vehicle will start in January, 2013, when the Asian facility will be able to produce enough units to satisfy the new market.
The Dacia Duster is being made under Renault’s “close watch” and the model is based on the old Clio generation. The low-cost SUV will be available in the United Kingdom in the same configuration as in its local auto market, with the 1.6 liter 16V petrol engine and its 110 HP, FWD as entry-level, and with the 1.5 dCi diesel in two outputs, with 85 HP and 105 HP. Prices for the Dacia Duster in the UK start at 10,000 GBP (12,150 euros) and they can go up to 12,500 GBP (15,150 euros).
