The exotic car manufacturer VUHL has decided UK buyers can now freely order the “05” sports car, with pricing starting from £59, 995.
The Mexican exotic manufacturer s on point during the London Motor Show where it has brought the right-hand-drive 05 in production guise and has also recently announced it has decided to start the model’s UK sales. The VUHL 05 will be going head to head with a crop of sports cars in the UK market – with main rivals being the Ariel Atom, KTM X-Bow, BAC Mono or the Caterham R300. The VUHL 05, just like the aforementioned models, has been designed for drivers looking for a very fun track toy that you can also enjoy on public roads because it has the necessary, legal, credentials. Power for the two seater comes courtesy of a turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder Ford EcoBoost engine churning out 285 horsepower (212 kilowatts) and 310 pound-feet (420 Newton meters) of torque.
The fun factor comes in the fact that it tips the scales at just 1,532 pounds (695 kilograms), claiming a very impressive power-to-weight ratio of 410 hp / ton. The extremely lightweight construction has been made possible thanks to the use of a bonded aluminum monocoque clad in a reinforced plastic body, and there’s even a carbon fiber option if you’re willing to spend extra. So, the VUHL 05 will need just 3.7 seconds for the 62 mph (100 km/h) run and it will reach a top speed of 152 mph (245 km/h).
