Volkswagen has launched the Bluemotion version of its new Passat in the UK, which is capable of 68.9 mg and has CO2 emissions of just 109g/km in saloon guise.
The BlueMotion Passat version of the seventh-generation Passat (not to be confused with the US model), itself launched in Europe in January, is offered in both sedan and Estate formats with prices starting at £19,875 and £21,180 respectively.
Practically is comes with a modified 1.6 litre common rail TDI engine producing 105PS with a six speed manual gearbox, low rolling resistance tyres, lowered suspension (15mm at the front, 7.5mm at the back) and a revised radiator and underbody panel. 16 inch lightweight and aerodynamic steel rims are standard fit, with 17 inch ‘Buenos Aires’ alloy wheels available as an option.
All BlueMotions are also well-equipped featuring curtain airbags, ESP, ‘Climatic’ air conditioning, electric windows, electronic parking brake, RCD 310 radio / CD player and Multi Device Interface (MDI) with iPod connectivity.
