The United Kingdom Police Department has received the keys to a very special patrol car, a McLaren 12C Spider, which has been unveiled this weekend, at the 2014 Auto Sport International.
If you thought that the Dubai Police Department is the only one in the world which has supercars to fight crime with, think again, because the United Kingdom isn’t sitting away from this “subject”, despite the recession on the Old Continent. The police department in the UK has received the keys to a McLaren 12C Spider patrol car and the model in question has been unveiled this weekend, during the 2014 Auto Sport International, in Birmingham.
The McLaren 12C Spider is the convertible version of the MP4-12C. This is being offered with a retractable hard top and it only adds 40 kg (88 lbs) to the total weight of the coupe. Power is still being provided by the 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine, which is producing a total output of 592 HP (441 kW) and 601 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is mated to a 7-speed automatic dual clutch transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint (62 mph) takes 3 seconds.
