After it has been introduced in front of the worldwide audience during the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, the new Mercedes SLC (facelifted and renamed SLK) has reached the United Kingdom.
British fans will be able to snatch re refreshed cabriolet for as low as 30, 495 pounds – for the base SLC Mercedes has prepared the SLC 200 Sport guise with six-speed manual transmission. The optional nine speed auto gearbox can also be had but then the SLC 200 will cost at least £31,980. For the money the owner will get halogen headlights complete with LED daytime running lights and if you select the automatic the SLC also gains a ports exhaust system. Other standard amenities include LED taillights, 17-inch alloy wheels, and safety goodies such as the Active Brake Assist, Active Bonnet, and Attention Assist.
On the optional list we could find among others LED headlights for £1,150, the Keyless Go package costing £765 and if you want the 18-inch five-twin spoke alloys you’ll need another £995. The SLC 200 has under the hood the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower (135 kW). You can shell the £39,385 and go for the SLC 300 AMG Line that packs 245 hp and is mated exclusively to the nine-speed auto. If you’re a diesel fan you can have the SLC 250d (from £32,995 Sport / £36,995 AMG Line) with 204 hp (150 kW). The flagship is the SLC 43 with its biturbo 3.0-liter V6 engine churning out 367 hp and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque. This one is £46,355, which is significantly lower than the old SLK 55 AMG that was offered for £55,350.
