The British unit of the South Korean automaker has recently announced the pricing specifications for the all new generation Kia Optima midseize sedan, which can be order across UK dealerships.
The model has reached its fourth generation and now has also gone a tad more upscale than before and as a consequence the pricing starts at 21, 495 British pounds in the United Kingdom. There it can be had with a single engine option – the 1.7-liter CRDi turbodiesel mill that can be mated to a standard 6-speed manual or an optional 7-speed DCT (from £24,895). The mill churns out 141 PS (104 kW) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque and has also been fitted with the Idle Stop & Go (ISG) technology that aims to increase fuel efficiency and lower the harmful emissions. Mated to the standard manual, the fuel consumption rating is of 67.3 mpg UK, while the DCT model will return 64.2 mpg UK.
Kia in the United Kingdom uses “2”, “3”, and “4” trim denominations and in the near future – next year – the range will be joined by the GT Line and GT models. The entry-level guise will only be delivered with the standard manual gearbox but delivers numerous amenities, including the 7-inch sat-nav infotainment system, reversing camera, dual automatic air conditioning, and cruise control (with speed limiter). We also noticed other goodies such as the 6-speaker sound system, 17-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights or remote central locking. The Optima 3 starts at £23,495 and comes packing a bigger 8-inch display, LED fog lights, xenon headlights, 18-inch alloys, LED taillights, heated front seats, a premium Harman Kardon sound system, and a black cloth / faux leather mix for the seats. The Optima 4 starts at £28,895 and comes packing the DCT and includes a myriad of technologies and other goodies.
