The Renault Captur is still in its first generation but the subcompact crossover is Europe’s best selling model in the segment, so updates are just keeping it fresh for the customers.
In the United Kingdom the French model’s 2016 model year will start from £14, 575, with the model also gaining a completely new range-topping trim – Iconic Nav Special Edition – from £19,175. But there’s even more, the 2016 model year Captur Dynamique and Nav specifications also being available with the company’s turbocharged 1.2-litre TCe petrol engine with a manual gearbox. It packs 118bhp, with an average fuel consumption of 51.4 mpg (UK) and emissions of 125g/km of CO2. The pricing for the new powertrain starts from £16,575 – in the past the engine was only fitted to the dual-clutch EDC automatic transmission.
Across the 2016 Captur range, Dynamique Nav and Dynamique S Nav trims also gain a Flame Red metallic paint and a contrasting Diamond black roof if the owner shells out £595. Add another £100 on top and there’s a matching red interior colour pack available. The new Iconic Nav Special Edition is only offered with the Arctic White pearlescent paint with a Diamond Black roof and door mirror covers, packing 17-inch wheels and matching body color lower front and rear bumpers. Go inside the cabin and you’ll find part-leather upholstery, aluminum pedals and Renault’s R-Link Evolution infotainment system, complete with the full European map and a reverse camera. Renault’s Grip Xtend pack is also standard, featuring a bespoke traction control system and special mud and snow tyres.
