The British based automaker Vauxhall has recently launched a new entry-level Ampera locally, which was named the Earth.
According to the car manufacturer, the Vauxhall Ampera Earth is a new entry-level version of the popular “green” vehicle, which has a starting price of 29,995 GBP. Even if it isn’t that expensive, the Vauxhall Ampera Earth is nicely equipped, coming with standard features such as a seven-inch touch screen display, an electronic climate control, power windows, power locks and more, in order to make your life easier.
“The Ampera Earth is the entry level model in Vauxhall’s E-REV line up which also includes Positiv and Electron models. With features such as DAB, 7-inch touch screen display and Bluetooth, the Earth is far from basic. Employing an identical powertrain system and exterior styling package to the higher spec variants, the Earth is available to order in four exterior colors and is offered with a black cloth trim”, as the automaker is saying in its official press release.
Just like the standard version, the Vauxhall Ampera is coming with a 16kwh lithium-ion battry pack which is powering an electric motor generating 150 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque (270 Nm). This is allowing the model to achieve a top speed of 100 mph (161 km/h) and travel for 40 miles (64 km) on electricity alone. When the battery is low, the 1.4 liter petrol engine is activating and acting like a generator in order to recharge it.
