UK: Vauxhall wins huge police deals image

Vauxhall won a tender process engaged by the National Policing Improvement Agency – UK. Thus, it won contracts for six police regions and became the biggest supplier of Police vehicles in the UK.

Practically, 71% of the 522 Police Authorities from UK will buy Vauxhall vehicles. The company will deliver around 7,000 vehicles during the following four years, including models like: Vauxhall Corsa, Astra, Insignia, Astravan, Combo, Vivaro and Movano.

Dick Ellam, Vauxhall Special Vehicles manager, stated:

“A key factor in our success is our approach to the supply chain. The only element we outsource is the delivery of the vehicle to the customer – everything else is done in-house. We are therefore able to make savings for the police fleets in the time it takes to bring their vehicles into service.”

Vauxhall Special Vehicles is a subsidiary of General Motors UK Special Vehicles. It was opened in June 2007 and delivered the firs 1,000 vehicles in less than 9 months. Its main advantage is that it offers a “turnkey solution”, which ensures that the car is personalized according to the client’s needs, benefits from standard full warranty and needs no further work.
