Dubbed Great Britain’s most exclusive luxury and supercar show, the Salon Privé 2014 has amassed a huge number of exotic and rare vehicles during September 3 and 5 at the Syon Park estate in West London.
Without being as widely known as the more crowd pleasing Goodwood Festival of Speed or the equally prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California, US, the Salon Privé should be on any gearhead’s agenda. The entry fee signals the show’s upscale exclusive claim – on the last day (September 5) the ticket set you back £234 ($381) – or £90 ($147) if you were in a hurry and only had time for the 2:30 – 5:00 PM entry.
“This is still the only automotive event in the UK that focuses purely on the premium automotive sector and allows cars to be openly and safely displayed without the need for barriers – very few events in the world offer such accessibility to the kind of priceless one-offs we have on display at Salon Privé,” said Salon Privé Sales Director David Bagley.
The 2014 Salon Privé had two main components – the British Supercar Show and the Concours d’Elegance – but an auction opportunity couldn’t have missed when one-offs and exotic cars that have hard to pronounce names surrounded the attendees.
