Calling it a special edition is an interesting take from the British automaker, but nevertheless Mini has decided to showcase the new UK-bound Countryman Special Edition.
The limited series comes with an Absolute Black Metallic wrap, with added design flair being sourced from the unique Space Grey Metallic paint applied to the roof and mirror caps. The compact crossover has also been equipped with xenon headlights and a set of 18-inch 5-Star Double Spoke alloy wheels with a black coating. The cabin greets its upcoming owners with Gravity-Carbon Black leather seats and assortment of Piano Black finishing touches. The limited series also has nice standard amenities such as the automatic climate control system, heated front seats, or a multi-function steering wheel. Also present is the MINI Connected infotainment system that has voice input, Bluetooth connectivity, and the traditional GPS navigation.
The new Countryman Special Edition will have a limited production queue of just 250 vehicles and the automaker has already started inking the order book. The crossover has under the hood two engine choices: turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder sporting 190 bhp (141 kW) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque and the diesel stablemate, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder delivering 43 bhp (106 kW) and 225 lb-ft (305 Nm) of torque. Both can be mated to a six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic gearbox and all versions will have the all-wheel drive system fitted as standard.
