A new entry-level model has been recently introduced by Tesla Motors in the shape of the Model S 70D.
Tesla’s newest creation is called the Model S 70D and it is carrying an all-wheel drive layout. This is basically serving as a replacement for the rear-wheel drive S60 and it can be had in three new exterior finishes, which include the Warm Silver, the Obsidian Black and the Ocean Blue, as the carmaker is stating. Besides the new colors, the vehicle has also received a lot of upgrades which should also justify its price upgrade, from 71,070 USD, which used to be the starting cost of the previous S 60 entry-level, to 75,000 USD, which is the price of the current S 70D.
According to the car manufacturer, the brand new Tesla Model S 70D is now coming with a dual-motor setup, while the previous version was only getting a single-motor layout. The total output produced has raised from 380 HP (283 kW) to a total of 514 HP (383 kW) and the range has also increased from 335 km (208 miles) to 386 km (240 km), thanks to the 10 kWh larger battery, to a total of 70 kWh. From 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h), the new entry-level car needs 5.2 seconds and it has a top speed of 140 mph (225 km/h), compared to the previous 5.9s sprint and 120 mph (190 mph) top speed. The first deliveries of the new Tesla Model S 70D should begin in May.
