US: 2012 Ferrari 458 Spider price announced image

The Maranello-based automaker, Ferrari, has just announced the pricing details for the 2012 458 Spider in the United States, which is expected to hit the over-seas dealerships early next year, just like the new BMW M5 presented earlier.

The “new” 458 Spider can be bought for 257.000 USD, which is actually 15 percent more than its brother, the Ferrari 458 Italia Coupe, but the Italian automaker didn’t provide any extra information of what the future American owners of the Spider will get for that money.

As a reminder, the Ferrari 458 Spider is powered by a 4.5 liter V8 engine which is delivering a total output of 570 horsepower at 9.000 rpm and a peak of torque of 398 lb-ft available at 6.000 rpm. The V8 is mated to a dual-clutch seven-speed F1 transmission and the convertible can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds, the same as the coupe, and it can hit a top speed of 198 mph while the coupe can hit 200 mph.
