Audi Ag., the premium brand of Wolfsburg, Germany-based Volkswagen AG, on Thursday reported its 11th straight record-setting month of sales for the year with 9,700 vehicles sold in November 2011.
The company said on a year-to-date basis, its sales are up 15.2 percent with 104,906 vehicles sold, topping the previous annual U.S. sales record of 101,629 set at the end of last year.
In addition, the German automaker unveiled that this new record marks the second time the Audi brand has topped the 100,000 mark since it established its U.S. business more than 41 years ago.
Sales of the new A6 surged 69.8 percent to 1,379 vehicles sold in November 2011, while the A8, the brand’s flagship sedan increased 38.4 percent over the same period last year. 2012 Audi A7 sustains momentum with 631 vehicles sold.
Commenting at the event, Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen said:
“Consumers clearly are responding to Audi’s superior product, unmatched engineering and progressive luxury positioning.”
