The US automaker has revealed the special-edition University of Texas Longhorns Silverado, which coincides with the start of The University of Texas Longhorns football season.
The limited series model is garnished with a Sunset Orange Metallic exterior paint, additional UT graphics on the pickup bed and tailgate and has chromed side steps. The UT edition package will become available across the US in October and has a MSRP of $795.
“There is no more appropriate place to showcase the stronger, smarter, more capable Chevrolet Silverado than in the heart of truck country,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet director of Truck Marketing. “The special-edition Silverado is a natural fit for Chevrolet in Texas, where a Longhorn fan lives in one out of every three households, and those fans are almost twice as likely as average consumers to buy a truck.”
The new UT edition package will only be available to customers who purchase the Silverado Double Cab in LT or LTZ trim, while the Crew Cab needs an LTZ trim. Chevrolet signed last year with the University of Texas Athletics program a multi-year sponsorship agreement, with the Silverado pickup becoming the Official Truck of the Texas Longhorns and also the Official Truck of Bevo, the Texas Longhorns’ mascot.
