US – Facelifted Volkswagen Passat goes official image

The 2016 Volkswagen Passat has been officially unveiled in the United States, but it isn’t really bringing any striking modifications compared to its predecessor.

Volkswagen has introduced an updated version of the Passat over-seas. The model in question is bringing new front and rear bumpers, optional headlights and taillights, a more prominent four-bar grille, additional chrome trim on the restyled trunk, a sportier front bumper on the R-Line version, unique side skirts, a rear diffuser, 19-inch anthracite Salvador aluminum alloy wheels, black accents and several other goodies.

The interior design of the 2016 Volkswagen Passat hasn’t been left unchanged either as this is now coming with the piano black trim, with higher quality materials, a new steering wheel, the MIB II infotainment system, USB, Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink compatibility. Optional goodies include the Easy-Open keyless access trunk, which can be opened by sliding your foot underneath the rear bumper, along with the rear seats, amongst others.

The updated version of the Volkswagen Passat is being offered with a choice of three engines, in the United States. The first one is a 1.8 liter TSI four-cylinder petrol burner, being followed by a 2.0 liter TDI four-cylinder diesel and a 3.6 liter V6 producing 280 HP. The 2016 Volkswagen Passat has a starting price of 22,440 USD, over-seas, and it will be offered for sale, across the nation, later on this year.
