The second largest Japanese automaker has delivered the ninth episode of its Titan Truckumentary series, with the latest installment showcasing the Titan XD while testing near the Nissan Arizona Test Center in Stanfield, Arizona.
Called “Making the Grade”, the video starts off by pointing out to the company’s durability team desire to push the truck to its limits on Montana Mountain – the automaker calls it the best suited location for off-road terrain trials that call to work the suspension, four-wheel drive system and cooling system – all at the same time. The second part of the video showcases the Kingman, Arizona area where the diesel-powered Titan XD pickup truck undergoes six percent grade road trials close to the Davis Dam. Here, the combo delivers extreme heat, heavy loads and steep inclines and thus the testers can observe the truck’s ability to two loads without any issues.
The Titan XD pickup truck, the company’s offer rivaling the US bunch (Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado and Ram 1500) has just entered production series at the carmaker’s factory in Canton, Mississippi and will reach the dealership lots in the near future. There are numerous choices to the had with the Titan XD – trim and body versions – though all of them will have to rely for now on the 5.0-liter Cummins V8 turbodiesel engine churning out 310 bhp (231 kW) and 555 lb-ft (751 Nm) of torque and mated to a six speed auto that can be linked to a RWD or AWD setup.
