The 2016 Volkswagen Passat is getting ready to arrive to its future customers living in the United States as the company has announced its official pricing list.
According to the car manufacturer, the cheapest version of the model will begin from 22,440 USD and for the money, customers will get a 1.8 liter TSI engine, capable of putting down a total of 170 HP (127 kW) and 249 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. Power will be sent to the wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission. The EPA-estimated is 38 mpg on the highway. If this isn’t enough for you, Volkswagen is also allowing customers the opportunity to order the 3.6 liter VR6 engine, with 280 HP (208 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, connected to a 6-speed DSG. This version costs 36,835 USD.
The automaker is also offering the optional R-Line package, which is bringing the total price of the 1.8 TSI variant to 23,975 USD, thanks to the more aggressive body, new rear diffuser, black accents and 19-inch wheels, wrapped in 235/40 tires. The R-Line Comfort package is available as well, for an extra 775 USD, bringing the heated front seats, leatherette surfaces, power driver’s seat, heated side mirrors and more. The R-Line Lighting package costs 1,095 USD and it’s adding the LED lighting units. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink and others are also available for the midsized car. The vehicle is currently available for order and it’s being put together in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
