Mahle, one of the 30 largest companies in the automotive supply industry will expand its Farmington Hills research and development center, following the purchase of the former Nailco Group Inc. operations next door.
The company hopes by early next year to have more than 350 employees in Farmington Hills. It has about 195 employees and will relocate employees from a leased space in Novi, said Jeff Trent, a Mahle spokesman.
“This move not only allows us to consolidate sales, accounting, finance, legal, human resources and IT functions on one campus, but it also demonstrates Mahle’s commitment to the state of Michigan and the automotive industry,” Mahle President Roland Zitt said in a statement.
MAHLE has operated in Michigan for more than 25 years. Its customers also include heavy diesel engine manufacturers like Cummins and Caterpillar. MAHLE employs approx. 850 people in Michigan in its facilities in Farmington Hills, Novi, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Muskegon, Saint Johns, Troy and Ann Arbor.
