It’s that time of the year when the summer is about to begin and lots of teenagers are growing up to reach graduation day – meaning they will party in big style, receive lots of congratulations and then begin the rest of their lives.
Some of them will also receive lots of congratulatory cash – which could be put to good use acquiring a new vehicle. But since there’s a myriad of choices, courtesy of Autotrader we can deliver a smaller list. “Any time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective,” comments Brian Moody, editor for the website. Beaten up 16-year old rides that were handed down from generation to generation might have worked in the past, but once college grads are ready to start their lives, they might opt for a safer, fuel efficient new vehicle. The picks for the most desirable cars for a graduate are not only safe and deliver great mileage, but also are choke full of technology features and have a stylish design.
Just to leave suspense out of the question, the top ten list was headed by the 201 Buick Encore. It was followed by the 2015 model year of the Chevrolet Trax (a group brother actually), with the rest of the entries being: Honda Fit; Nissan Versa Note; Mazda3; Jeep Renegade and the Fiat 500. Since there are others that won’t have the cash or desire to purchase a completely new model, there’s also the option of having a certified pre-owned model – the choices here being the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and Lexus IS.
