Australia’s first electric supercar, the evR-450, made by Varley Electric Vehicles, has been scheduled to enter production and the model will be launched in 2012.
According to Varley Electric Vehicles, the evR-450 electric supercar will enter production and the model will be available for its future customers in 2012. The Varley evR-450’s starting price remains unknown for the moment but we don’t expect it to be cheap and rumors say that the electric supercar will be priced at 207.120 USD or 150.045 EUR. And if the Varley evR-450 will cost so much, I can’t help it and I have to ask: “what’s wrong with a Tesla?” well besides being sold out for 2012.
As a reminder, the Varley evR-450 is powered by a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which is charging itself from a standard 15A outlet in eight hours and it has a driving range up to 100 miles or 160 km. The electric supercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and its top speed has been electronically limited to 200 km/h or 124 mph. Varley Electric Vehicles is planning to offer the evR-450 in two versions, where the second version is expected to have a total range of up to 300 km/h (186 miles).
