The British based automaker Vauxhall is planning to develop a hot version of the Adam which will most likely wear the VXR badge.
After it was officially presented to the public for the first time a couple of months ago during the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the Vauxhall Adam is being placed into the spotlights once more, this time with a rumor which is saying that the company’s smallest model will probably get a hot versions. The Vauxhall Adam VXR is expected to come with a new engine, which should produce a total output of 138 BHP. The model will hit the market sometimes next year and the same treatment will be applied to the Opel Adam, which will be named the OPC.
Additional details on the hot Vauxhall Adam VXR / Opel Adam OPC are limited for the moment but the regular version of the model will come with three petrol efficient engines, the 1.2 liter with 70 HP, the 1.4 liter with 87 HP and the 1.4 liter with 100 HP, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. All engines will get the ecoFLEX technology package and the start/stop system. A new 1.0 liter turbocharged unit, similar to the Ford’s 1.0L EcoBoost, will eventually find its way too in the Adam.
