Vauxhall and Norbert Dentressangle signed a three-year contract extension for the distribution of auto parts to 300 Vauxhall and Chevrolet retailers in the UK.
It’s been 12 years since Norbert Dentressangle has provided Vauxhall with aftersales parts distribution, and with this contract extension it has invested extra GBP1m (US$1.57) in 35 new trailers.
“Norbert Dentressangle provides us with a flexible and proven transport solution that enables us to maintain a high level of service to our retailers,” said Vauxhall warehouse operations manager, Peter Durham. “This, combined with the range of added value site services, means we will continue to benefit from a reliable and cost-effective parts distribution operation.”
With the new plan Norbert Dentressangle will collect orders from Vauxhall’s Luton distribution centre near London, for overnight delivery to retailers via its national shared-user network. This means that parts ordered by 18:00 are to be delivered to dealers until 08:00 in the next day. The added value services include waste management, sorting and management, yard services, site shunting and outbound loading.
Chevrolet and Vauxhall use the Norbert Dentressangle’s Shipment Handling and Reporting Programme Technology, which ensures orders are processed immediately.
