Vauxhall has announced an updated for the 2014 Astra GTC across the United Kingdom as the model is now getting a new engine, which is good for 200 HP.
Good news for Brits looking for a more powerful version of the Vauxhall Astra GTC who think that the VXR is too flashy because the three-door hatchback is now available with a brand new engine for this model year. According to the British based automaker, the model in question has received the 1.6 liter ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo engine, which is found on the Cascada Turbo.
The unit is producing a total output of 200 HP (147 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque, which is enough to allow the Vauxhall Astra GTC to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 7.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h). The average fuel consumption in the car stands at 51 mpg UK (5.5L / 100 km / 42.4 mpg US), while the CO2 emissions stop at 154 g/km.
The Vauxhall Astra GTC is said to become available with a revised IntelliLink infotainment system too, with a 7-inch touch screen display, voice control, Bluetooth, sat-nav and some other tweaks. Prices for the model have been set at 20,995 GBP and the first units will be delivered locally this spring. More details on the car should be announced soon.
