A person died and dozens are injured after a massive pileup in which 100 vehicles were involved happened on Interstate 10 in Southeast Texas.
According to KFDM-TV, the collision happened because of dense fog at around 8 am Thursday near Beaumont, about 80 miles east of Houston.
One person is dead after the crash, said Texas Department of Public Safety trooper Stephanie Davis, who declined to provide details. According to Davis, at least 100 cars and trucks crashed in extremely dense fog. So far, at least 48 people have been taken to area hospitals, ambulance service told KFDM.
Interstate 10 remains shutdown in eastbound lane, while westbound lanes have reopened.
