Audi has released the first promotional video with the new generation of the S3 hot hatch, which is being presented as an ideal urban cruiser.
After pulling the wraps off the 2013 Audi S3 just a week ago, ahead of its official debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show this Thursday, the German based automaker is placing the model into the spotlights once more, this time by releasing the first promotional video with it. The new generation of the Audi S3 is coming with a custom suspension setup develop by the company’s Quattro division, along with a six-speed manual transmission, or the optional S tronic, and a permanent all-wheel drive system.
Power to the new generation of the Audi S3 is being provided by the advanced 2.0 liter direct injection four-cylinder gasoline engine, which was developed from scratch as part of the EA888 unit family, producing a total output of 296 BHP at 5,500 rpm and 280 lb-ft of torque, available between 1,800 and 5,500 rpm. The 2013 Audi S3 can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.1 seconds with the S-tronic gearbox, while with the six-speed manual transmission the hot hatch sprints from 0 to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds. Top speed is limited to 155 mph and the model is returning 34.1 mpg (European test cycle) for the manual and 33.6 mpg for the dual-clutch version.
