One of the most expected models which will most likely hit the showrooms worldwide in late 2012, the BMW M3 F80, has recently been caught on camera while being tested on the famous German track, the Nurburgring, and cruising the streets of the country with its camouflage well placed.
However, its camouflage can’t hide the fact that the new generation of the M3 is most likely to be a V6, and, according to the Bimmerpost.com, the provider of this video, the unit is naturally aspirated but it will be turbocharged on the production version.
The Bimmerpost.com says that the engine might be either an inline straight-six or even a V6, and recent rumors say that the new generation of the BMW M3, codenamed the F80, might have a good change in being powered by a turbocharged V configuration which is expected to develop around 450 horsepower, with both DCT and manual transmissions available, while the total weight of the car will be reduced compared to the current model.
According to the same website, the new generation of the BMW M3 F80 might be shown at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show as a concept car and the model will be hitting the European showrooms in Autumn next year, but the vehicle might also be available for its future customers sometimes in 2013.
