The impressive 2013 Ford Shelby GT500, with its even more impressive engine, putting down 662 horsepower, has been recently caught on camera while being tested on the famous German track, the Nurburgring, in a power lap. Unfortunately the rain came down and we can only enjoy some great exhaust noise, but this is OK too, compared to having nothing.
Ford says that the 2013 Shelby GT500 is getting “the most powerful series production V8 in the world”, and the unit is actually developing a total output of 662 horsepower. The all-new 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 is getting its power from the massive 5.8 liter V8 unit, which is coming with 631 lb-ft of torque (855 Nm) and the horsepower mentioned above, being able to return an average of 15/24 mpg in city/highway.
According to the North American based car manufacturer, the all-new 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 will be manufactured at the AutoAlliance International Plant in Flat Rock, Mich, and more details on the muscle car, along with its price tag, are expected to be announced later on this year.
