The German based automaker Audi has recently released the first video with the brand new A3 Cabrio, which will be officially presented to the public during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
According to the car manufacturer, the brand new Audi A3 Cabrio has grown in size compared to its predecessor and the total length has increased from 4.24 meters to 4.42 meters, the width from 1.77 meters to 1.79 meters and the wheelbase has been stretched from 2.58 meters to 2.60 meters. The height of the car has been reduced by 15 mm to 1.41 meters. Thanks to the extended wheelbase, there are now an extra 60 liters in the cargo area. The total weight of the car has dropped by 50 kg (110 lbs) despite being bigger.
The 2014 Audi A3 Cabrio has a new soft cloth top, which can be opened or closed in less than 18 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph). Customers of the model can also order the so-called “acoustic top”, which has a thicker inner foam layer, reducing interior noise. As for the engine lineup, this will include at first the 1.4 TFSI with 140 HP (103 kW), the 1.8 TFSI with 180 HP (132 kW) and the 2.0 TDI with 150 HP (110 kW). The model will eventually be launched with the 1.6 TDI with 110 HP (81 kW), the most frugal version, and the 2.0 TFSI with 300 HP (221 kW), in the S3 Cabrio.
