The South Korean based automaker Kia has recently released the first official video with the brand new Pro_Cee’d GT, showing the model in action on the road.
Kia’s attempt to enter the C-segment for hot hatches is named the Pro_Cee’d GT and it was officially presented to the public in a world premiere, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The Kia Pro_Cee’d GT will go on sale across Europe later on this year and, even if you may argue on this, the model is rivaling the Ford Focus ST, the VW Golf GTI, the Renault Megane RS and the Opel Astra OPC / Vauxhall Astra VXR.
The 2014 Kia Pro_Cee’d GT has an aggressive body kit, LED daytime running lights, new bumpers, new grille, dual exhaust system, 18-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, Recaro seats, alloy pedals and more. Power to the South Korean hot hatch is being provided by a 1.6 liter GDi turbo engine, producing a total output of 204 HP (150 kW) and 265 Nm of torque (195 lb-ft), mated to a six-speed manual transmission. This is enough to allow the Pro_Cee’d GT to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 230 km/h. Fuel consumption stands at 7.4 L / 100 km and CO2 emissions stop at 171 g/km.
