Mini has released a new teaser video with the new generation of the Cooper which will be officially presented to the public next week.
After it was spied and teased quite a few times until now, the new generation of the MINI Cooper, which is wearing the 2014 model year in its name, is getting ready to make its public debut next week. The model in question will be riding on the UKL1 platform, which will also be used to underpin several other BMW models, including the 1-Series, and it will get a more stylish body, along with an active hood, which will definitely help it receive the 5-star rating needed from Euro NCAP.
The 2014 MINI Cooper will be bigger than the outgoing model but even so, the vehicle will have a lower curb weight, a revamped electronic power steering system, a lighter braking system and much more. As far as the features go, there will be a head-up display, a small folding screen on the dashboard, a windscreen installed camera, a pedestrian warning system, a digital headlight assist and much more. The new MINI Cooper generation will receive the 1.5 liter gasoline engine under its hood, with its 134 HP (100 kW), along with the 2.0 liter with 189 HP (141 kW). Diesel units will include the 1.5 liter engine, producing 114 HP (85 kW) and 269 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. More details on the model will be announced during its official unveil.
