Now here’s an interesting video from the British based news magazine Autocar. We have the new 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S vs the McLaren MP4-12C. Who will win? Well take a look. The result might be surprising.
Back in May, Porsche announced changes to the model year 2014 911 Turbo S – an increase of power to 560 hp – giving an acceleration time to 100 km/h of just 2.9 seconds. In addition the new Turbo S has now rear-wheel steering for belter handling at high speeds.
It also comes with a very simple launch control; basicly you have to put the car Sport Plus mode with the console-mounted button, pin the brake and the gas, and the tach rises to a launch limiter, popping and growling as it waits for your command.
Regarding the MP4-12C, well – 616 hp from a 3.8-litre V8,twin-turbo engine and a lot of F1 technologies like the “brake steer” where the inside rear wheel is braked during fast cornering to reduce understeer. All that power is transmitted to the wheels through a seven-speed seamless Shift dual-clutch gearbox.
But enough with the chicchat – take a look at the video and let us know what you think…
