The Czech based automaker Skoda has recently released a teaser video with the upcoming generation of the Octavia.
After it was spied on the roads while being tested several times over the past months, the future generation of the Skoda Octavia is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the Czech based carmaker releasing the very first teaser video of the model. The 2014 Skoda Octavia will be slotted above the Rapid and below the Superb and it will ride on Volkswagen’s MQB platform, borrowing the same engine lineup from the Golf 7.
Borrowing the engine lineup from the VW Golf 7 means that the hot vRS version will probably get the 20 liter turbocharged unit under its hood. The design of the new Octavia will be inspired by the Rapid and the model will lose some weight, even if its size has increased. The new generation of the Skoda Octavia is expected to hit the market sometimes next year and judging by the months since it has been tested, the model might make its way onto the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
