The upcoming BMW M4, codenamed the F82, has been recently caught on camera while it was being tested at the Nurburgring.
BMW is going through some new names these days and for those of you who don’t know this yet, the new generation of the three-door BMW M3 will be named the BMW M4. The powerful German car has been recently spotted on the Nurburgring, where it was being tested severely, and most of the times the model is riding on three wheels. The new BMW M4 is expected to make its way onto the market in 2014, one year after the new M3 generation will be officially presented to the public.
After initial rumors were saying that the BMW M4 will get a V6 engine or even the same downsized unit found on the new M5, the company’s North America president, Ludwig Willisch, has said that the model will be powered by an inline six-cylinder engine, which will replace the old 4.0 liter V8 found on the current M3 generation. The official didn’t say anything about the displacement of the new six-cylinder unit but this is expected to come as a 3.0 liter twin-turbo or even tri-turbo, developing around 444 BHP.
