The upcoming 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will be “the most powerful muscle car ever” as the company has recently announced.
Dodge Challenger fans will be glad to find out that the 2015 SRT Hellcat has been described as “the most powerful muscle car ever” by the North American based car manufacturer. The vehicle in question is getting ready to go on sale later on this year.
“The all-new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT, with its supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® Hellcat engine, produces an unprecedented 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful Challenger ever, Dodge’s most powerful V-8 ever and the most powerful muscle car ever”, says the automaker in its official press release.
The company has previously said that the 6.2 liter V8 engine will produce more than 600 HP (447 kW) but the final number stands at more than 707 HP (527 kW) and 880 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque. No performance specifications have been announced on the muscle car in question just yet but it seems that the whole 707 HP will be available only to drivers who will use a special key fob. Otherwise, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will get 500 HP (372 kW). The model will go on sale in the third quarter of this year and it will be assembled in Brampton, Ontario.
