[VIDEO] 2015 Subaru Legacy and Outback earn Top Safety Pick+
Two of the safest vehicles available for order are the 2015 Subaru Legacy and 2015 Outback, as they have been recently awarded with a Top Safety Pick+, by the IIHS.
If you have your eyes on either the 2015 Subaru Legacy or the 2015 Subaru Outback but safety is a main reason for buying a new car, go ahead and place a deposit, because the two models are as safe as they can be, after they have been awarded, by the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety), with a Top Safety Pick+.
“The driver space was maintained well, with the safety cage preventing excessive intrusion into the occupant compartment. The dummy’s movement was well-controlled, and the frontal and side curtain airbags worked together to protect the head from contact with interior structures. Ratings for restraints, dummy kinematics, and injury measures for the head and neck, chest, pelvis, and legs and feet are all good”, says the IIHS in the press release.
This is not the first time when the Legacy and the Outback earn the Top Safety Pick+ award and in the previous generation, the two models have also received the safety rating, but since then, the tests have evolved and so have the cars. The rest of the winners in the safety chapter signed by Subaru are also the Forester, the Impreza, the BRZ, the XV Crosstrek or the WRX.
