A couple of teaser videos with the new generation of the Audi A4, in Sedan and Avant versions, have been released recently by the German based automaker.
Lighter, more powerful and ready to take on the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. This is the new Audi A4 generation which will be officially presented over the web on the 29th of June. The model in question will be significantly larger than the current generation as the carmaker will put some distance between it and the A3 Sedan. Expect a more accommodating cabin with extra legroom for the rear passengers.
Despite growing in size, the 2016 Audi A4 will be actually lighter than its predecessor and it will be riding on the MLB Evo platform. This will assure it a 100 kg weight loss. The fully digital instrument cluster from the TT and Q7 will be added to the cabin and upgraded materials, an MMI display with a larger rotary knob to control it will be added too and higher end versions will be receiving the LED headlights and the LED taillights. Don’t act too surprised if you will see the dynamic turn signals either. As far as the engine lineup goes, the upcoming midsized vehicle will get a 2.0 liter TFSI four-cylinder unit, which will be capable of putting down 190 HP (140 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. The model will be unveiled on Monday, June 29, and it will be making its public debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, in September. Sales should begin by the end of the year.
