Here’s one sight that will become very rare starting next year when the 2017 model year run of the supercar gets completed – a brand new Dodge Viper getting treated to a tuner’s upgrade.
Unfortunately the American automaker has decided – again – to cease the production of the Viper. But at least the owners of the current generation will still be able to enjoy serious power. That’s because Hennessey has decided to outfit the model with its Venom 800 Supercharged upgrade, and in the attached footage we see the raw power of the package on the dyno. The Texas aftermarket specialist has lots going for the Viper – an all-engine 700 hp upgrade, or a very wild 1,120 hp twin turbo package. Now the tuner can also satisfy the supercharged fans with the Venom 800 package.
We already know – from the name of the upgrade – the Viper will now have instead of 645 hp at least 800 under its belt, with the exact figure being an interesting troll on the Hellcat – 808 hp. The 8.4-liter V10 has been left alone, with the engineers opting for a blower at a reasonable 5 psi boost pressure. In addition, there’s also n intercooler, high-flow injectors, as well as an engine management system upgrade. And as an added bonus we also saw the 3-inch stainless steel exhaust comes out delivering some flames.
