The future generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been recently spotted on Germany’s roads.
Mercedes-Benz is currently working on the new generation of the E-Class, which should be officially introduced sometimes next year, probably in the second quarter. The model in question, which can be seen in the video posted below, is currently undergoing some intensive testing. The vehicle is coming in a completely new body style, with new lines visible despite the camouflage and it will basically look like a pumped out C-Class.
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will grow in size to set some space between it and its smaller brother, just like the C-Class has grown in size in order to distance itself from the CLA. The model will be riding on the same MRA platform as the C-Class and it will be coming with a range of straight-six gasoline engines, along with a powerful 313 HP (230 kW) and 400 HP (294 kW) 2.9 liter turbo diesel. The 4.0 liter twin turbo seen on the AMG GT will be offered on the E63 AMG version. A plug-in hybrid variant is also in the books. The E-Class will be shown at first in a sedan body style, being followed by the estate, the coupe, the convertible and also the LWB.
